 Welcome to the website of molecular diagnosis and synthetic biology lab (http://mdsb.postech.ac.kr)! 

We do research in the field of 1) metabolic engineering and 2) synthetic biology. We engineer platform strains mainly Escherichia coli and Vibrio sp. dhg, and we are developing useful molecular engineering tools and computational tools for precise gene expression control, enzyme engineering and high-throughput screening. Through metabolic engineering and the application of advanced synthetic biology technologies, we can develop high-performance microbial strains capable of efficiently producing value-added chemicals—including bioactive compounds, biofuels, and platform chemicals—from low-cost biomass sources.

We are actively seeking integrated MS/PhD students interested in metabolic engineering and synthetic biology.
